Answer 2 :
First of all, only get black shirts, pants don't matter that much because you'll be wearing an apron that covers most of it. (in the beginning, you will spill a lot). Even I still sometimes spill things. Try going to places like Winners or Old Navy. You can try American Eagle too. My dress shirt is from Gap, so you can try there as well. For shoes, since you'll be standing for a really long time, get comfortable ones. Don't worry about non-slip shoes because there will be large rubber mats on the floor to prevent that (with the exception of the 30 minutes when they will be moved to be cleaned). I got my black shoes at Wal-Mart, and they're really comfortable! Also, you should ask for a Christmas promo T-shirt from your manager. You're allowed to wear promo T-shirts on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

About i want to work for the seattle mariners in the front office but i dont know what i should major in in college

I want to work for the seattle mariners in the front office but i dont know what i should major in in college?
Hey i am planning on going to college and become an intern for the seattle Mariners and i was just wondering like what type of major should i choose so that i can work my way up to working in the front office with all of the important people please tell me what i should major in.
Higher Education (University +) - 2 Answers
People's Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
Answer 1 :
major in Kinesiology with emphasis in sports management
Answer 2 :
I am an NHL person myself, but some of my experience might be useful! Most of the people working for the Red Wings have a lot of game relevant experience. They were players, they were coaches, they were scouts, they were team doctors-- whatever. They have to know the game to get up there and their experience needs to speak for itself. Some sort of sports management degree, or maybe even just a business degree I bet would be helpful. But you have to be prepared for the possibility you'll end up working for a different team if the mariners don't offer you a job, and someone else does. Food has to go on the table even when you're a traitor. :P Why don't you look up their present front office folks on wikipedia or something and see what they studied?

About what hospital is the best to work at in Seattle

What hospital is the best to work at in Seattle?
I want to be a surgeon when I grow up but I also want to live in Seattle. Are there any good hospitals to work at in Seattle?
Seattle - 1 Answers
People's Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
Answer 1 :
There are some great hospitals to work at in the Seattle area - The University of WA medical center, Harborview medical center, Swedish medical center, Children's hospital (if you choose a pediatric sub-specialty) are all in the city. Evergreen hospital is just north of Seattle, Overlake is in Bellevue, Valley Medical Center is in Renton, Providence Medical Center is in Everett. Lots of choices. But if I were looking to be at "the best", I'd be looking at UW, Swedish, Harborview or Children's.

About where can a 15 year old work in Seattle

Where can a 15 year old work in Seattle?
I've had it a little hard on myself this year. I need to find a way to make quick money. Preferably a summer job, other than anything with seattle parks and recreation, they pay a small amount of money and it barely contributes to my college savings. Anything helps :)

Answer 1 :
Listed below are the jobs you can do at 15, in Seattle, the hours, you can work, along with other regulations Ok firstly the law on the hours you can work during school time, and the hours you will be able to work during non school weeks. Hours of Work: Minors Age 15 - During school weeks: No more than 18 hours per week No more than 3 hours per day on school days No more than 8 hours per day on Saturday or Sunday No more than 6 consecutive days in a pay week Not before 7 am or after 7 pm Minors Age 15 - Non-school weeks: No more than 40 hours per week No more than 8 hours per day No more than 6 consecutive days in a pay week Not before 7 am or after 7 pm during school year Not before 7 am or after 9 pm from the last day of school to Labor Day with written permission from a parent Just one comment on the above, you need to ask at your school whether you will need a work permit.form from your school giving the schools permission for you to work. If they do, you need to fill out an online form, for a work permit, which will then be signed by your school. This is the website for the work permit form. http://www.ehow.com/how_7449385_work-permit-15-year-old.html It depends on the state, some states you do not need this some states you do. It’s worth checking. Also most states do not allow a 15 year old to have a checkout job at a Supermarket, but any other job is fine. Now the type of jobs you can legally do. At 15 years of age you can do many jobs: • Clerical and office jobs in industrial wholesale, retail, service, and professional establishments. • Hotel jobs. • Sales persons. • Solicitors. • Collectors • Distributors. • Demonstrators. • Delivery jobs other than with a motor vehicle. • Newspaper and magazine delivery over non-residential routes. • Restaurant jobs. • Soda fountain jobs. • Mercantile store jobs. • Supermarket and food store jobs. • Amusement industry jobs. • Standard office type machine operators. • Standard domestic type machine operators. • Hospital and health agency jobs. • Library attendants. • Professional assistants. • Counsellors at camps, beach attendants, lifeguards, caddies, pinsetters. • Domestic helpers, maids, cooks, cleaners, baby-sitters, janitors. • Singers, models, entertainers, dancers, and theatrical work. About looking for full-time work in Seattle in the next few months

Looking for full-time work in Seattle in the next few months.?
I am currently teaching English in Taiwan until January 09. When I return to the States, I would like to work full-time in the Seattle area. I have a BA in French from Brigham Young University, lots of work experience, great references, and a killer smile to boot! If you are looking for someone in your office that can start in a few months, I would love to pass along my resume to you!

Answer 1 :
Sounds like you have an excellent background. I suggest looking on craigslist as much as you can, and sending a resume/cover letter to jobs that may interest you (www.craigslist.org, click on Seattle). Also, check the Seattle Times and maybe even send resumes to employment agencies in the area. Best of luck to you!
Answer 2 :
Along with the other basic ways of searching online, I would touch base with either an employment agency to have them keep an eye out for you, as well as checking the state teaching site for openings! Here is a list of agencies to maybe find you something in the meantime til you get settled in! Good luck

About how bad is traffic to work in seattle

how bad is traffic to work in seattle?
I am looking at getting a job in south Seattle. I live near the Tacoma / Puyallup area, and am curious how bad the traffic really gets going up on I-5 and/or 167 routes. I know the mornings aren't as bad as the afternoons, but what kind of delay times can I expect? If anyone can give round-abouts from locations around this area it would be really helpful! Thank you all for your responses.
Commuting - 1 Answers

Answer 1 :
It can be rough especially at peak commute times. You might want to consider taking public transit to avoid some of the misery. Tacoma & Puyallup Sound Transit has both express buses and trains into Seattle. The Sounder trains run only during weekday rush hours & start from Tacoma Dome Station and then serve Puyallup enroute to Seattle. Also from Tacoma to Seattle express bus #590 & 594 have direct service to SODO & downtown, and from Puyallup the Bus #578 has express service into Downtown. Hope this helps! Good Luck

About how do the free busses in downtown Seattle work

How do the free busses in downtown Seattle work?
Is there some place online I can get a schedule for them? And having never used public transportation, at least not much, how do I know which will go where i need it to?
Seattle - 2 Answers
People's Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
Answer 1 :
Information about the ride free area is here: http://metro.kingcounty.gov/tops/bus/ridefree.html Most buses that go through downtown are free to ride within the downtown zone. There are a few exceptions: Metro Buses 116, 118, and 119 are never free. Link Light Rail is never free Buses in the bus tunnel are free except getting on/off at the international district station, which is outside the zone. So if you board at Westlake and get off at the ID station, you'll have to pay. If you board at Westlake and get off at Pioneer Square station, it's free. How do you know where a bus will go? You can check out the bus routes at the King County Metro Site, you can ask the bus driver when you are getting on what route they take through downtown. They are supposed to announce the last stop in the ride free zone, but you can ask them to announce as well for a reminder. Many bus stops also have route information posted. A list of the buses that go through downtown (with links to their routes) are here: http://metro.kingcounty.gov/tops/bus/neighborhoods/downtown_seattle.html
Answer 2 :
The free ride zone is basically Battery St. on the north end, and Jackson St. on the south end, from the waterfront to 6th ave. If you need to go somewhere in that area, then you can ride for free. You have to get off before the bus leaves the free zone if you don't want to pay. It's only like 16 blocks, so for people who are not experts, I tell them to stay right up front, next to the driver, even if you have to stand (again, its only 16 blocks.) The driver will announce "last stop in the free ride zone". Get off then if you don't want to pay. There is no need for a schedule. Just stand at any bus stop on 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and get on any bus. There will be a bus by every few minutes. Get on any bus. Just get off before they leave the free ride zone. Metro Transit, Sound Transit, and Community Transit all participate in the free ride zone, so all public buses are free in the zone, during the zone hours, which are between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. daily.

About how does the high school system in Seattle work

How does the high school system in Seattle work?
How many years of high school are there? What are the requirements? Can credits from Ontario be transferred there and how? Links and any extra info would be really helpful, too. Thanx!!
Primary & Secondary Education - 1 Answers
People's Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
Answer 1 :
I would suggest simply calling the school you intend to transfer to and get a copy of your transcript to them. You can go over your transcript with the counselors and they'll tell you what you still need to graduate. If you have a semester, trimester or quarter system back home, and passed your classes satisfactorily in Ontario, you'll probably be fine when it comes to transferability of credits. Below is the main website for Seattle Public Schools - just call the district and ask. You have twelve years of compulsory education in Washington state; most schools have you go to a high school from ninth grade to twelfth grade, but some high schools include eighth grade as well. While there is a state wide diagnostic exam to graduate called the WASL, by the time you get here you may not have to take it. It's effectiveness is hotly debated by the state government and it may not be a requirement for graduation by as early as next year.

About if I work in Seattle and husband works at Ft Lewis where is the best location to live

If I work in Seattle and husband works at Ft Lewis where is the best location to live?
I plan to work in the Seattle area and my husband is working on Ft Lewis. What is the best area to live in? Where is the best location to live in regard to the morning commute but is also safe and all around pleasant? Puyallup?
Seattle - 4 Answers
People's Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
Answer 1 :
puyallup enumclaw tacoma
Answer 2 :
Kent. Then you can take the Sounder train into Seattle, and he will have a 45 minute drive to Fort Lewis. Bear in mind Seattle downtown and Fort Lewis are about 50 miles apart.
Answer 3 :
Puyallup, Kent, Auburn or Federal Way may work. Tacoma might be an option provided you can find mass transit. For your commute into Seattle I would be looking for something that offers a mass transit option cause that direction will have a heavier commute than your husband's.
Answer 4 :
There is a commuter train that runs from Tacoma through Puyallup, Sumner, Auburn and Kent. It takes an hour from Tacoma and a half hour from Auburn. It drops you off near Qwest Field. Many companies subsidize the train, and the connecting bus you will probably have to take. If you live in Puyallup, he can take Highway 512 to work, which will save him a lot of time. (It dumps you out near Ft. Lewis and after all the yucky I-5 traffic). You will end up with a longer commute, but you won't have to sit in traffic
